Cobra Yoga Pose - Bhujangasana

Type of yoga pose: backbend
Benefits: this pose increases spine flexibility. It can also be helpful in relieving back pain.
As a rule, Cobra pose is done as a part of the Sun Salutation vinyasa sequence.
Instructions you need to follow to get into this yoga pose:
1. Being in Knees, Chest, and Chin position, you should release the tops of the feet to the floor and press them down.
2. Afterwards you are to slide your chest forward. Your hands should stand exactly where they were initially.
3. Now you have to roll your shoulders back and lift your chest higher at the same time having the low ribs on the floor.
4. Doing the exercise you should keep your neck neutral, not to crank it back.
A note for beginners: if you engage the legs strongly and press them down, you will be able to bring your chest higher.
A note for advanced: you should keep your chest high and bring the palms off of the floor. Otherwise, your palms can be placed on the floor. Being in this position you can start to straighten the arms for a more intense backbend.
