Dolphin Yoga Pose

This yoga pose is also known as Puppy Pose. 

Type of Yoga Pose: standing, mild inversion.

Benefits: this yoga pose is a variant of downward facing dog pose. The pose is especially useful for people who have got pain in their wrists.

Instructions for getting into the pose: 

1. You should start on all fours. Your knees should be beneath your hips and the wrists beneath your shoulders. 

2. Then you are to put your elbows on the floor, have them lined up with your shoulders. Your forearms should be parallel on the floor. 

3. The next step you should do is to straighten your legs as though you are coming into downward facing dog pose. 

A note for beginners:
you should try some dolphin push-ups in order to strengthen your abdominals and arms. 

A note for advanced: from dolphin pose, you should straighten both of your arms simultaneously to find yourself in full downward facing dog pose. Afterwards you should bend your arms and put both of your forearms simultaneously back to the mat. You need to do the exercise several times.
