Hands and Knees Balance Yoga Pose

Type of yoga pose: hands and knees.

Benefits: this yoga pose is good for improving balance and core strength.

Instructions for doing this yoga pose:

1. At first you should stand on all fours so that your wrists were underneath the shoulders and the knees underneath the hips.

2. The next step is extending the right leg to the back of your mat and bending the foot.

3. Afterwards you should raise the right leg up to the level of the hip and keep the hips squared towards the floor and the foot in bent position.

4. Then you have to raise your left arm up to the level of the shoulder.

5. Now you are to balance on the left knee and right hand. The spine must be neutral and the neck long.

6. You should stay 5-10 breaths before you lower your raised hand and knee and do the other side.

A note for beginners: be careful in order not to let your spine collapse when you are balancing.

A note for advanced: you can bend your knee of the raised leg and reach around with the lifted arm holding on to the inside of the lifted foot.
