Hero Yoga Pose - Virasana

Type of yoga pose: seated.
Benefits: with the help of this pose you can stretch your thighs and ankles and improve your posture.
Note: you should be very careful with your knees in this pose. In case you feel any knee discomfort, you can sit up on a block.
Instructions for doing this yoga pose:
1. You should start in a kneeling position.
2. You have to keep your knees together when you separate the feet, bringing your butt down to the floor between your feet.
3. You should make sure that you are sitting not on your feet but between them.
4. Then you have to make sure that the feet are in straight position, turning neither inward nor outward.
A note for beginners: if you need, you can put a padding under your sit bones. You can also use a yoga block or a blanket. It depends on how high you need to be.
